Despite my earlier evening heartbreaks, I had a great opening at the gallery last night! I opened the Audra Ricketts exhibition and was delighted with the turnout. It seems as though people are starting to show up pretty regularly now for the openings... Which makes me really really happy. That has been how I've measured the success of any show, is whether I actually managed to get people to come to the opening! You all know what a strange place Tinseltown is... I've gotten positive feedback from different people about being there and keeping on with the gallery... Some days though, I 'll tell you... When I don't feel like paintings and no one comes through the gallery, I wonder what on earth I'm doing there. But then I'll open a show like Audra's and I remember why. I love to paint, I love art and I really enjoy being able to put together exhibitions for talented artists whose work I believe in. For people I believe in. It helps that I actually sold a couple of paintings last night as well. That, feels amazing! So for now, no "day" job for me.

After the opening, I phoned another friend and he took me to the World where we danced until 5am. All in all it was a good 24 hours.

Things have been crazy busy lately... Haven't had time to update this site.
The gallery seems to be gaining a life of its own...

Chris Walter and his partner, Jennifer, came by the other night. It was a pleasure to finally meet him... He looks just like the photo on the cover of his books but not as tough... Just dynamic and full of presence.

Opening a new show on the 23rd of April...

I went to a few openings this weekend, and surprizingly enough, I had a blast! Started with the Rodney Graham exhibition at the VAG... total craziness! Then Artspeak and Access... Saw many old friends, had many drinks, made some new friends... Hadn't had a night like that in a while... Yeaaaaa ART!

What a fabulous day!
Over a hundred people went through the gallery tonight!

It was lovely to see Anatole Russell-Ingram and his new wife Tina.

The gallery is open...

I put up another show at Blake's (in gastown) this afternoon...

I finished a painting tonight...

I'm printing up a portfolio of sold paintings from the last six months...

I'll be going to NWSS tomorrow morning to write a five hour test to see if I have enough comm 12 and math 11 to help the kids in pathmath and humanities...

Tomorrow night the gallery will be moving from behind Ayden Gallery to the space beside it...

I spent part of last night with an old friend...

 .... and... I'm a little tired...

Christmas? Did someone say Christmas? Well, the tree is up and I'm pretty sure there are lights on it...
But life's good... I put my desires out into the universe and they are being answered... although the answers are a little edgy... Just like me I supose.
